Pattaya isn’t really dangerous, if you’re know what you do – however, you can easy die if you:

    1. Cheating bar girls (always pay up, there is no free lunch here, even if you’re 20)
    2. Starting fights (Hooligans die fast here)
    3. Drive big bikes fast
    4. Dealing with drugs
    5. Open a bar business in Pattaya
    6. Wearing big gold chains
    7. Insulting people

… by the way: I’ve been in Thailand for over 13 years right now…

If you have spent 10 years in Thailand you should know that there is a lot more to Thailand than the sex trade, having said that Pattaya does have a lot more of that than most places in Thaialnd. but there is also more to Pattaya than just sex if you are willing to check it out.

I feel 10 times safer in pattaya than Liverpool city center at night, of course you still have to be streetwise and firm when necessary.

good on you for making this video. i get sick and tired of peoples reactions when i say im going to thailand.

the people are amazing and the press are quick to jump onto anything bad that happens in pattaya but bad things happen all over the world and i really did feel safe in pattaya.

I dont know if your english speaking or if youve expressed yourself correctly but i totally agree with you, bollox to to them all, every man will paddle his own canoe at the end of the day and if there is a judge when we die i bet there will be a few suprises, i dont think sex tourists will be high on Gods priority list of damnation, i think murderers, rapists, thieves, muggers and the tax man will be at the head of the cue before anyone else, long live thailand, long live pattaya.

Ok I love Thailand. I hate when people assume that only “pedophiles and sex tourists” go there. But on the issue of hiv/aids, it is very high rate in Thailand, especially pattaya, and its subtype-e which is easier to catch than the type of hiv found in England and USA which is subtype-b. It takes 1-3 months to show up on a test, so testing bar girls is useless, especially when that first month is the most contagious month.

This video is brilliant, people told me to miss out pattaya on my travelling trip to thailand in June 2007. They said it was just sleezy and forgetable. In pattaya i found some of the best nightclubs ive ever been to, Mixx, oceans 10, insomnia! i had a brilliant week in pattaya and cant wait to go back. personally i could go to walking street every night and NEVER get bored!

I was there only once, in 1987. I remember renting a big bike because I like bikes; stopped at a red light, there were three of us falangs on big bikes with two of us having little Thai ladies on the back….it was somehow ludicrous. After that, during my many months spent in Thailand over the years, sometimes I’ll think “right now in Pattaya….” and often that contrast is mind-boggling. I’ll be in a quiet village, or on a serene beach, or in the hills somewhere….

.Pattaya is just a physical manifestation, an interpretation made concrete, of the hedonistic dreams of many falang men, it’s only Thailand to the extent it’s within Thai borders and is a Thai attempt to satisfy these desires.
Nothing wrong with hedonism per se, but no need to try make it out to be something other than it is. Disneyland never claims or tries to be Lincoln Centerm and Pattaya falang should just admit they’re there, rather than anywhere else, for the p-ssy!

never trust the thais, be good person, dont just be all paranoid, but if u aint born thai your an outsider for ever, they now if they changed the laws and allowed foriegn ownership to come in even if regulated theyd be outsmarted and loose the place in about three days, its a bucnh of sleeping fuks, and lost souls. im over the place, it was fun but once u stay long enough u see the evil, u just cant not see it, its really a sad place imo not a happy one, thai mentality is parasictical-
